1.PermeaPad


How? 

  • Sandwich set-up with two cellulose-hydrate membranes and a dry phospholipid layer in between

  • In the hydrated form the phospholipids forms vesicles with a bilayer structure

  • Protection of the lipid excellent stability

Why?

A good dissolution does not necessarily give a good permeation and thus good bioavilability (BA)

Permeability is a key- parameter that determines the oral BA

Availability and reproduction of alternative membranes are limited

How?

The PermeaPlain Barrier is a cellulose-hydrate membrane without lipid


Differences to PermeaPad®


  • Faster permeation rate with the PermeaPlain membrane

  • Only recommended for pH-

    independent compounds

  • Not biomimetic
